The associate degree nursing program at Georgia Northwestern Technical College prepares the learner to apply the knowledge, skills, and attitudes required of a self-directed, critically thinking, beginning nurse generalist. The 65-hour occupational curriculum is designed to be completed in four consecutive semesters through combined classroom, laboratory, and on-site clinical experience. The nurse is viewed as a caring, holistic healthcare provider possessing critical thinking and clinical judgement skills, accountability, and integrity that makes nursing the most trusted profession in the United States.
Program graduates receive an Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) degree. Graduates are then eligible to apply to take the National Council Licensure Exam for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN). Upon successful completion of the NCLEX-RN and receipt of an RN license by the Georgia Board of Nursing (GBON), graduates may obtain employment in a variety of settings across multiple states.
May 2024 – Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) students passed their NCLEX exam on their first attempt and achieved a 100% pass rate.
