Distance Education

GNTC’s Distance Education program offers a variety of course offerings including on-campus, online courses, blended courses, Telepresence courses, and eCampus courses. Distance Education courses utilize Blackboard Learn Learning Management System. Log in to Blackboard through the Okta single sign-on dashboard.

On-Campus (CA)

Courses are taught primarily on campus with 50% or less of the course content delivered online. This delivery method requires students to be in class on specific days/times during the term. Students may be required to log in to the Learning Management System to access some course content. On-Campus classes are not considered distance education courses but still utilize the Blackboard LMS.

Online (OS or OA)

Online Synchronous (OS): Distance education courses are taught fully online synchronously with course content, activities, and interactions occurring entirely online. This delivery method requires students to be online at specific dates/times during the term. Online synchronous courses may require proctored events.

Online Asynchronous (OA): Distance education courses are taught fully online asynchronously with course content, activities, and interactions occurring entirely online. This delivery method does not require students to be online at specific dates/times, and students may participate in-class activities and complete course assignments asynchronously. Online asynchronous courses may require proctored events.

Blended (BL)

Distance education courses are taught on campus and online with more than half (50%-99%) of the course content being delivered online. This delivery method requires students to be in class on specific days/times during the term and to log in to the Learning Management System to access over half of the course content.

Telepresence Courses

Telepresence courses are on-campus or blended courses where the on-campus portion of the course is delivered via audio/video-conferencing technologies. Students may attend a Telepresence course from multiple GNTC Campuses specified before the course’s term begins.

eCampus

Distance Education courses are taught fully online either synchronously or asynchronously using TCSG's eCampus platform. The eCampus platform allows students from across Georgia to enroll in online courses offered by any Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) college. Upon completion of the eCampus course, students will earn credit at their home college. eCampus courses may require proctored events. Learn more about eCampus.
