The Horticulture program at Georgia Northwestern Technical College (GNTC) will hold a Fall Mum Sale Monday, Sept. 15, through Thursday, Sept. 18, outside of Building L, located across from GNTC’s Floyd County Campus in Rome. The sale will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday or until plants sell out.

Selena’s Scholarship honors the late Selena Magnusson, who was GNTC’s vice-president of Institutional Effectiveness and Student Success. A Chickamauga resident, Magnusson was employed at GNTC for 26 years in a variety of roles. She passed away June 6, 2024.

A GNTC graduate is moving up at Chick-fil-A Supply after earning an associate degree in Supply Chain Management and Logistics. Grant Davis said he became interested in business operations and supply chains because he enjoyed problem solving and driving for results.

GNTC student Joel Westbrook is the first male wheelchair athlete ever named to the U.S. Para-Karate Team and will compete in the Para-Karate division of the 2025 Karate World Championships in Cairo in November.

GNTC's Accelerated Academy speeds up the pace at which students can earn their High School Equivalency (HSE). Nineteen students graduated from GNTC’s first Accelerated Academy class. The class, which lasted three days, provided meals and snacks, HSE instruction, practice tests and testing—all for free.

A Georgia Northwestern Technical College student credits GNTC with helping her build a better future by helping her complete her High School Equivalency, obtain a college degree and find success in the banking industry.

Dalton State College and GNTC will host the first Northwest Georgia Workforce Summit on Friday, Aug. 22, at the Dalton State campus. The summit will bring together educators, business leaders, and community partners to explore strategies for strengthening the region’s economic and workforce competitiveness.

The GNTC Foundation awarded approximately $40,000 in grants and scholarships for fall semester 2025, with recipients ranging in age from 17 to 87.

All 17 graduates in GNTC's Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) program have passed a national nursing licensure exam this year on their first attempt and achieved a 100% pass rate.

AdventHealth and Georgia Northwestern Technical College (GNTC) have signed an agreement designed to boost enrollment in GNTC’s Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) program, thereby helping to expand and continue nursing education services in northwest Georgia.
