GNTC announces Free Application Month for the spring 2026 semester
October 31, 2025
GNTC will host a Free Application Month throughout November to help those who are seeking to enroll in the spring semester. Through Nov. 30, GNTC will waive the $25 application fee for all incoming students.

GNTC students awarded fall 2025 Gov. Nathan Deal Technical Education Scholarship
October 15, 2025
Two GNTC students have received The Governor Nathan Deal Technical Education Scholarship in recognition of their academic achievement in an industrial or industrial-related program. Jamasin Cook, Welding and Joining Technology, and Andy Phillips, Supply Chain Management and Logistics, received the scholarship for the fall 2025 semester. They are students at GNTC’s Whitfield Murray Campus (WMC) in Dalton.

GNTC accepting applications for Latin American Association-Mohawk Scholarships
October 13, 2025
GNTC is accepting applications for the 2026 Latin American Association-Mohawk Scholarships through Oct. 31. This scholarship, funded by the Latin American Association (LAA) with the sponsorship of Mohawk Industries Inc., supports students involved in the Hispanic community who graduated from eligible high schools in Chattooga, Floyd, Gordon, Murray or Whitfield Counties. Up to six scholarships will be awarded for the spring 2026 semester.

GNTC’s Medical Assisting program excels on accreditation review

GNTC's Medical Assisting program successfully passed its recent accreditation site visit with no recommendations from the review team. The program prepares students for employment in a variety of positions in hospitals, physician’s offices, outpatient care and other healthcare facilities.

GNTC to host Open House events on all six campuses Oct. 16

GNTC is hosting an Open House at all six campuses to provide an opportunity to learn more about the programs offered at GNTC, tour the facilities and meet faculty and staff. The event on Thursday, Oct. 16, will take place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on each of GNTC’s campuses.

GNTC students receive Rabbit Valley Farmers Market Scholarship

Mary Sharay and Olin Yaoapoqa, Horticulture students at the Floyd County Campus in Rome, have received a Rabbit Valley Farmers Market Scholarship. Scholarship applicants must be planning a career related to farming, gardening, landscape design, environmental issues, floral design or horticulture.

GNTC Foundation awards Gene Haas Scholarships for fall 2025 term

Jesse Nicholson, a Calhoun resident, and Mayahuel Yaoapoqa, a Menlo resident, have received the Gene Haas Scholarship, which rewards academic excellence and provides financial support for students working toward a degree, diploma or certificate in the Precision Machining and Manufacturing program.
