Helpful Tips Before You Apply

  1. Create an AwardSpring account with your GNTC email address so we can easily contact you.
  2. Make sure you know your most recent cumulative GPA – you will be asked to provide this on your application.
  3. One professional letter of recommendation (LoR) from an instructor or employer is required. LoR requests are sent via AwardSpring during the application process but contact the writer beforehand to be sure they are willing to serve as a reference.
  4. You do not need to select scholarships to apply for. You will be automatically matched with the scholarships for which you are eligible.
  5. Each section of the application saves as you go, and you may log in as many times as needed to complete your application.

Visit AwardSpring and create an account using your student email address and a unique password. You will use this same account to apply each semester.

You will automatically be matched with scholarships for which you qualify.

GNTC Foundation Scholarships

  • The Governor Nathan Deal Technical Education Scholarship – Established by the Carpet and Rug Institute and made possible in part by a grant from the Community Foundation of Northwest Georgia to reward academic excellence in GNTC students at the Whitfield Murray County Campus completing a certificate, diploma, or associate degree in an industrial technologies program. Programs include Automation Engineering Technology, Diesel Equipment Technology, Flooring Production, Industrial Systems Technology, Precision Machining and Manufacturing, Welding and Joining Technology, Logistics and Supply Chain. A minimum 3.0 GPA is required. Applicants must be residents of Whitfield, Murray, or Gordon counties.
    • Award amount: Varies from $500 to $1,500; awarded most terms
  • Diesel Equipment Technology Scholarship – Rewards academic excellence and provides financial support for students pursuing a certificate, diploma, or degree in the diesel equipment service and repair profession on the Whitfield Murray Campus.  Applicants may be enrolled full-time or part-time.
    • Award amount: $500; fall and spring awards
  • Electrical Systems Scholarship – This scholarship rewards academic excellence and financially supports any Electrical Systems program students.
    • Award amount: $1000; fall and spring awards
  • First-Generation Scholarship – Open to first-generation students working toward a diploma, degree, or certificate. A first-generation student is defined as a student whose parent(s)/legal guardian(s) have not completed college. (You are still considered first-generation even if a sibling has attended college before you.)
    • Award amount: $1000; fall award
  • GNTC Scholarship – The Georgia Northwestern Technical College Foundation Scholarship is for outstanding students with financial need who are enrolled in any program of study leading to a certificate, diploma, or associate degree.
    • Award amount: $500; fall and spring awards
  • Gordon County Campus Scholarship – This scholarship recognizes excellence in students pursuing a certificate, diploma, or degree on the Gordon County campus.
    • Award amount: $750; fall and spring awards
  • Gene Haas Scholarship – Rewards academic excellence and provides financial support for students working toward a certificate, diploma, or degree in the Precision Machining and Manufacturing Degree Program on the Whitfield Murray Campus and the Floyd County Campus.
    • Award amount: $1000; fall and spring awards
  • Judy Hodge Memorial Scholarship – Established by Beta Sigma Phi in honor of Judy Hodge, a faculty member in GNTC’s Business Technology Program for over 45 years. Open to Business Technology Associate degree students with financial need, with priority given to those at the Walker County Campus.
    • Award amount: $500; fall award
  • Jerry Jones Memorial Scholarship – This scholarship honors the memory of Jerry Jones, firefighter and Emergency Medical Technician. The award provides financial support for students in the EMJ1 Emergency Medical Technician Certificate program or EMH1 Advanced Emergency Medical Technician program.
    • Award amount: $500; 2 awards in spring 2026
  • Kerry Scholarship – Established by Kerry Food Coatings to support students in the Industrial Systems Technology or Instrumentation and Controls Technician degree or diploma programs. Students must reside in Floyd County.
    • Award amount: $1000; fall award
  • Latin American Association – Mohawk Scholarship – Open to GNTC students with a minimum 2.5 GPA in any program, this scholarship recognizes students engaged with the Hispanic community in one or more of the following ways: heritage, involvement, volunteerism, language, and support. Students must be residents of Whitfield, Murray, Gordon, Chattooga or Floyd County.
    • Award amount: $1000; spring award
  • Huston “Buck” Parson Scholarship – This scholarship was established in 2024 to support students with financial need who reside in Murray or Whitfield County.
    • Award amount: $2500 – an additional $2500 will be awarded the following year if the student remains in good standing; spring award
  • Octaviano and Bertha Perez Scholarship – Mr. Octavio Perez established this award to honor the memory of his parents. It supports two students each semester enrolled in the Construction Management program, one with an interest in carpentry and the other in masonry.
    • Award amount: $1000; fall award
  • B.J. Pharr Scholarship – Established to reward academic excellence and provide financial assistance for full-time students working toward a degree in the Respiratory Care Program.
    • Award amount: $500; fall and spring awards
  • Rabbit Valley Farmers Market Scholarship – Established to provide financial support to Horticulture and Culinary Arts students. For the fall award, applicants must be planning a career related to farming, gardening, landscape design, environmental issues, floral design, or horticulture. Spring scholarship applicants must be enrolled in the Culinary Arts program.
    • Award amount: $500; fall and spring awards
  • Registered Nurse Scholarship – This award provides financial support for outstanding students enrolled in the Associate of Science in Nursing program.
    • Award amount: $1000; fall and spring awards
  • Rome Home Builders Association Scholarship – To reward academic excellence in students pursuing a diploma, degree, or certificate in residential construction-related programs, including Electrical Systems, Air Conditioning Technology, and Landscaping on the Floyd, Gordon, and Polk County Campuses. Students must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and a minimum Work Ethics average grade of 2.
    • Award amount: $1000; fall and spring awards
  • Roper Scholarship – Established in 2024, this scholarship provides financial assistance to students employed by Roper Corporation. Students can be enrolled in any credit program and must work at Roper during the application and award semesters. The award applies to tuition, fees, supplies, tools, or other educational materials.
    • Award amount: $1000; fall and spring awards
  • Matthew Vroman Memorial Scholarship – This scholarship was established in 2024 to support Aviation students who possess the character traits exemplified by Matthew Vroman: kindness, solid values, and a relentless work ethic.
    • Award amount: $2000; spring award
  • David Warren Memorial Scholarship – Open to students pursuing a diploma, degree, or certificate in the Horticulture program. This scholarship was established in honor of David Warren, former director of the Horticulture program.
    • Award amount: $500; spring award
  • Judge Dan Peace Winn Scholarship  Established by the family of Judge Dan Peace Winn, this scholarship is open to Polk County residents or those with a connection to Polk County who are completing a diploma, degree, or certificate.
    • Award amount: $1000; fall award

Scholarships for High School Seniors

  • David Adam Scholarship to two Cedartown High School seniors, covering costs for four semesters
  • Chattooga High School Alumni Scholarship of $1000 to five CHS seniors
  • High School Graduate Scholarship of $500 to one senior at each high school/college and career center in GNTC’s nine-county service area
  • Hix Family Scholarship of $1,000 to one senior from Coosa High School
  • McDaniel Family Scholarship to one Murray High School or North Murray High School senior, $2,500 each year for two years
  • Kirby Patterson Scholarship of $1,500 to one senior at Murray High School and one from North Murray High School planning to serve in law enforcement and/or criminal justice in Murray County
