Five GNTC students have received the spring 2026 Gene Haas Scholarship, which rewards academic excellence and provides financial support for students working toward a degree, diploma or certificate in the Precision Machining and Manufacturing program.
GNTC awards 2026 Matthew Vroman Memorial Scholarship

GNTC announces O’Darius Davis as the 2026 recipient of the Matthew Vroman Memorial Scholarship. Davis, a resident of Rome, is an Aviation Maintenance Technology student at GNTC’s Floyd County Campus in Rome. Matthew Vroman passed away in 2024 at age 25 after years of battling numerous health issues. This scholarship, established last year, supports Aviation students who possess Vroman’s traits of kindness, solid values and relentless work ethic.
GNTC awards 2026 Latin American Association-Mohawk Scholarships

GNTC announced the 2026 recipients of the LAA-Mohawk Scholarship at a recent ceremony held in the Conference Center on the Gordon County Campus in Calhoun. The scholarship, funded by the Latin American Association (LAA) with the sponsorship of Mohawk Industries Inc., supports students engaged in the Hispanic community who reside in Floyd, Gordon, Murray or Whitfield Counties.
Jerry Jones Memorial Scholarship 2025

Two GNTC students have received the first Jerry Jones Memorial Scholarship, which provides financial support for students in the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Advanced EMT certificate programs. This scholarship honors the memory of firefighter and EMT Jerry Jones.

GNTC student Ashley Weaver believes her prospects add up to a bright future as she pursues an associate degree in Accounting. Weaver received her High School Equivalency (HSE) through GNTC’s Adult Education program in spring 2024, completing classes at GNTC’s Whitfield Murray Campus (WMC) in Dalton. She expects to graduate with her Accounting degree in spring 2026.

Two GNTC students have received The Governor Nathan Deal Technical Education Scholarship in recognition of their academic achievement in an industrial or industrial-related program. Jamasin Cook, Welding and Joining Technology, and Andy Phillips, Supply Chain Management and Logistics, received the scholarship for the fall 2025 semester. They are students at GNTC’s Whitfield Murray Campus (WMC) in Dalton.

GNTC is accepting applications for the 2026 Latin American Association-Mohawk Scholarships through Oct. 31. This scholarship, funded by the Latin American Association (LAA) with the sponsorship of Mohawk Industries Inc., supports students involved in the Hispanic community who graduated from eligible high schools in Chattooga, Floyd, Gordon, Murray or Whitfield Counties. Up to six scholarships will be awarded for the spring 2026 semester.
