Culinary Arts Program Overview
The Culinary Arts Degree program is a sequence of courses that prepares students for the culinary profession. Learning opportunities develop academic, occupational, and professional knowledge and skills required for job acquisition, retention, and advancement. The program emphasizes a combination of culinary theory and practical application necessary for successful employment. Program graduates receive a Culinary Arts Degree. Graduates who are current practitioners will benefit through the enhancement of career potential. Entry-level persons will be prepared to pursue diverse opportunities in the culinary field as cooks, bakers, or caterers/culinary managers.
Culinary Arts Mission Statement
It is the mission of the Culinary Arts program at Georgia Northwestern Technical College to promote student success by providing culinary education and training with an emphasis on culinary theory and practical application. Excellence, leadership, professionalism, and work ethics are the core values that guide our efforts. Graduate students will possess the experience and knowledge that will lead to job acquisition, retention, and advancement in the food service industry.
New students are currently being accepted into Georgia Northwestern Technical College’s Culinary program for the summer semester. Courses for the summer semester have been adapted to fit an online learning environment. The following courses can be taken online for the summer semester:

- CUUL 1370 - Culinary Nutrition and Menu Development
