What is Advising and why is it important?

Academic Advisement is a process that helps students approach their education in an organized and meaningful way. Advising also involves guiding students to make responsible and viable decisions about their academic careers. Advisors hold key information to help you get through your Georgia Northwestern Technical College program.

You will meet with an Advisor when you first start at GNTC and you should meet with an Advisor every registration until you complete your program.

We use DegreeWorks as an academic advising tool.

Self Registration Guide

The following video is a step-by-step guide to show students how to register themselves for classes through MyGNTC. While this guide shows you the steps, we strongly encourage you to speak with your Program Advisor or a member of our Advising Department to ensure that you are on the correct path for program completion. Advisors are here to support you and guide you to the best choices for your success.

Please visit your program link for your advisor.

Dual Enrollment

If you are going to be a high school Dual Enrollment student, you should contact your High School Counselor to register for courses or contact Dual Enrollment for more information.
