Apply for Both Federal and State Aid

Step 1: Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA has to be submitted for each respective aid year of attendance if you are seeking federal aid (ex, Pell). It is made available for the respective aid year as early as the preceding October.

Step 2: Complete the Georgia Student Financial Aid Application (GSFAPP) – Expires in ten years.

  • Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
    • Submit the 2026-2027 FAFSA for Fall 2026 (August 2026 – December 2026), Spring 2027 (January 2027 – May 2027), and Summer 2027 (May 2027 – July 2027)
  • As you are filling out the FAFSA, keep an eye out for the Federal Tax Information Agreement and be sure to agree to it to have your tax information imported. Be sure to list GNTC’s Federal School Code: 004024
  • If submitting your FAFSA after our system is updated for the respective aid year, your processed FAFSA should load into our system within 5-10 business days.
  • If it comes in requesting documents, submit them as soon as possible and preferably ahead of the priority deadline to allow time for processing.
  • The GNTC Admissions Process also needs to be completed if you are a new student, a transfer student, a returning student who took a break from enrollment of a year or more, or a returning student who previously completed an official withdrawal.

Only Interested in State Aid?

  • The GSFAPP does not require tax or income information and is valid for ten years if completed.
  • If you are attending a degree program, you would need to be checked for the HOPE Scholarship, which can require additional steps.

Once your application has been received, the Financial Aid Office may require additional documentation. Please check your student email regularly and make sure you submit any additional documents as quickly as possible.

Foundation Scholarships

The GNTC Foundation Department receives private contributions in order to build and maintain outstanding academic and support programs at the college. Donations to the Foundation support areas of institutional need including scholarships to deserving students, equipment purchases, materials for the library, and staff development.
