Georgia Northwestern Technical College (GNTC) student Brett Notabartolo, of Trion, was selected for the 2017 Georgia Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (GASFAA) Memorial Scholarship.

The Executive Board of GASFAA created the Memorial Scholarship Fund to provide a scholarship to a student enrolled in an institution of higher education in Georgia. The $1,000 scholarship honors deceased financial aid colleagues.

Notabartolo began his educational pathway at GNTC as a dual enrollment student and is currently pursuing his associate degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management on the Catoosa County Campus.

Brett Notabartolo of Trion was selected to receive the 2017 Georgia Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (GASFAA) Memorial Scholarship. He is currently serving as an intern at Wholesale Pipe Industrial and Electrical (WPIE) Supply Inc. in LaFayette.

“I spoke with some of the people at GNTC and they mentioned that Logistics was a new up and coming program on the Ringgold campus,” said Notabartolo. “So I went to the campus, spoke with Grace Beam, and did some research and one of the things that I liked about it is there are so many different fields you can go into once you graduate.”

Notabartolo remains very active in the GNTC community. As an officer for Phi Beta Lambda, his team won first place in two events in the state PBL competition in Management Analysis and Decision Marketing and Marketing Analysis and Decision Making. He went on to compete in the national PBL conference in California. Notabartolo is also a recent graduate of the Institute for Leadership that is sponsored by Phi Beta Lambda.

He is a member of the Student Government Association at GNTC and also participated in the Technical College System of Georgia’s study abroad program in Scotland.

“We learned quite a bit about the history and culture of Scotland,” said Notabartolo. “I studied International Business there and they incorporate a lot of hands-on activities in the classroom just like GNTC does.”

Currently, Notabartolo is serving as an intern at Wholesale Pipe Industrial and Electrical (WPIE) Supply Inc. in LaFayette.

“This internship has really opened my mind as to how important inventory management is and how big of role it plays at a company,” said Notabartolo.
