GNTC to hold Fall Mum Sale, Sept. 21-23, 2021

September 14, 2021

The Horticulture program at Georgia Northwestern Technical College (GNTC) will hold a Fall Mum Sale outside of Building L located across from GNTC’s Floyd County Campus in Rome Tuesday, Sept. 21, through Thursday, Sept. 23.

The sale will be held from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on each day.

The mums will cost $4 each and there will be a variety of colors available.

The plants are located in a fenced area outside of Building L and buyers should stop by Building L if no one is outside with the mums, said Nick Barton, director of GNTC’s Horticulture program.

“Our yellow mums are already in bloom. We have other colors as well and the buds on those are just starting to flower. They should be in full bloom in a week or two,” said Barton.

The sale is a way for GNTC to contribute to the community that also gives Horticulture students real-world experience.

“The program has taught me everything I need to know; lighting, soil quality, how the business structure works and more” said Jennifer Clark, a resident of Kingston and owner of Royal Roots.

All proceeds from the plant sale will benefit the Horticulture program at GNTC. Purchases may be made with cash or check and credit cards are not accepted.
