Dade County to offer GNTC courses this fall

July 20, 2017

Northwest Georgia’s largest college is set to offer classes at Dade County High School this fall. Georgia Northwestern Technical College has laid out 10 classes to be taught to students in Trenton during the day and at night.

Evening courses available to all students include Principles of Management, Composition and Rhetoric, and Introduction to Computer Literacy. These are core classes which can count towards a certificate, diploma, or degree program at Georgia Northwestern, as well as transfer to many other college and universities. Speak with an advisor in the Student Help Center at Georgia Northwestern by calling the college toll-free at 866-983-4682 or stop by and speak with them in person at any of the college’s six campuses in Catoosa, Floyd, Gordon, Polk, Walker, or Whitfield County, Georgia.

Dade County High School students will be taking college courses of their own from Georgia Northwestern, as well. Of course, they will be earning high school and college credit at the same time through the state’s Move On When Ready (MOWR) program. MOWR allows high school students to earn college credit while still earning their high school diplomas.

Among the college courses Dade County students will have a chance to take this fall are College Success, Intro to Computer Literacy, Composition and Rhetoric, Literature and Composition, and College Algebra. Taking these courses for college credit before graduating high school comes at no financial cost to the student or the family. The deadline for anyone to apply for online or on-campus classes at Georgia Northwestern Technical College is July 24.
