One hundred and eight students were honored as the newest inductees into Georgia Northwestern Technical College’s (GNTC) chapter of National Technical Honor Society (NTHS).

A full capacity crowd of friends, family, faculty and staff gathered in the Conference Center on GNTC’s Gordon County Campus in Calhoun to celebrate the newest NTHS members achievement.

“We are really excited about the big response to this new organization and how it will benefit and empower students to become future leaders in our community,” said Medina Safic, NTHS advisor and coordinator of Career Services at GNTC.

To qualify for GNTC’s chapter of the NTHS, students must have a GPA of 3.0 and be in good academic, behavioral and financial standing.

The National Technical Honor Society is an educational non-profit that exists to honor, recognize, and empower students and teachers in Career and Technical Education. NTHS serves over 100,000 active members annually in both secondary and postsecondary chapters across the country. Georgia Northwestern Technical College provides quality workforce education to the citizens of northwest Georgia. Students have the opportunity to earn an associate degree, diploma or a certificate in aviation, business, health, industrial or public service career paths. This past year, 12,241 people benefited from GNTC’s credit and noncredit programs. GNTC has an annual credit enrollment of 8,031 students and an additional enrollment of 4,210 people through adult education, continuing education, business and industry training and Georgia Quick Start.
