GNTC Foundation awards 48 scholarships to high school graduates
The Foundation at Georgia Northwestern Technical College (GNTC) awarded 48 scholarships totaling more than $37,000 to 47 graduating high school seniors in the northwest Georgia region.

GNTC’s Accelerated Academy holds 2026 Spring Graduation
Fifteen students earned their High School Equivalency (HSE) through Georgia Northwestern Technical College’s (GNTC) Accelerated Academy on Thursday, June 11. GNTC’s Youth Success Academy holds 2026 commencement ceremonies
Twenty-nine students received their High School Equivalency diplomas this week through the Youth Success Academy (YSA) at GNTC. Seventeen students graduated at the YSA Commencement Ceremony at GNTC’s Floyd County Campus in Rome on Tuesday, June 9. Twelve students graduated from GNTC’s Walker County Campus YSA program at Peavine Baptist Church in Rock Spring on Thursday, June 11.

GNTC students competed in three categories and took home a bronze medal at the 2026 SkillsUSA National Leadership & Skills Conference, June 1-5, in Atlanta. GNTC student receives $5,000 Advocate Health Community Scholarship
GNTC student Kristin Garrett has received a $5,000 Advocate Health Community Scholarship to help cover education costs as she pursues an associate degree in Respiratory Care. A resident of Rome, Garrett anticipates graduating in May 2027. She has been employed at Atrium Health Floyd in Rome as a public safety supervisor for more than three years.
