The Governor’s Office of Workforce Development announced the end of the Work Ready Program effective July 1, 2012. The Work Ready Program's 6-year initiative provided over 300,000 citizens of Georgia the opportunity to earn a certificate verifying their skill and knowledge level to potential employers.

Georgia Northwestern Technical College will continue to offer WorkKeys® Assessments.

Georgia Northwestern Technical College recognizes the value of an identified skilled workforce. WorkKeys® Assessments are the exact same tests that were available under the Work Ready Program. WorkKeys® is a job skills assessment system that helps employers select, hire, train, develop, and retain a high-performance workforce.

The core assessments include: Workplace Documents (replacing Reading for Information), Applied Math (replacing Applied Mathematics), and Graphic Literacy (replacing Locating Information). Applicants receive their test scores at the end of the testing session. Testing cost is $65 for the three core assessments.

Registration is held prior to each testing session. Valid photo identification is required. Admission to testing is on a first come, first served basis. Once all testing slots are filled, the session is closed. All applicants interested in testing are encouraged to arrive early for registration.
