Work Ethics
What is a Work Ethics Grade?
The Technical College System of Georgia instructs and evaluates students on work ethic in all programs of study. Ten work ethic traits have been identified and defined as essential for students success; appearance, attendance, attitude, character, communication, cooperation, organizational skill, productivity, respect, and teamwork. GNTC classroom instruction on ethical work standards is provided to assist you in understanding these skills before applying them in the workplace.
You are evaluated twice each academic term on your ethics: at midterm and at the end of the term. This evaluation is reflected in a separate grade on your academic transcript. If you enroll in an online class, you will also receive work ethic grades for those attributes that are appropriate for online instruction.
The grading scale for Work Ethics is as follows:
3 = Exceeds Expectations
2 = Meets Expectations
1 = Needs Improvement
0 = Unacceptable
