Industrial Mechanical Assessment

Georgia Northwestern Technical College will provide Industrial Maintenance assessments to be utilized in the employee selection process for the company. The test will indicate an individual’s knowledge and ability (including demonstration/identification applications) in the following areas:

Basic mechanical principles
Blueprint reading
Welding
Hydraulics
Pneumatics

Dates: Scheduled according to company’s needs
Assessment length: 3-4 hours per area
Cost: Will vary depending on areas to be assessed and number of employees involved.

Introduction to PLC Programming: Allen-Bradley

An introductory level class covering the basics of programming the Allen-Bradley SLC 500 family of Programmable Logic Controllers, including the MicroLogix series of micro-controllers. Topics include timers, counters, and other typical relay ladder logic circuits using the RS-Logix 500 Software package. This class is intended for personnel with prior motor control or industrial experience in a related field.

Safety Audit & Consultation

Safety Audit & Consultation – Will involve an initial walk through and resulting report to management. GNTC representative will continue involvement with the company Safety Committee as directed by plant Safety Engineer. Ergonomics audit and consultation services are also available.

Cost: $250 – Initial safety audit; $75 per hour for ongoing consultation.
