The GNTC Office of Marketing and Public Relations performs the following functions for the college:
- Coordinates advertising for the college
- Develops official college Publications
- Writes and distributes press releases for the college (Check out our Newsroom for current releases)
- Media Relations - coordinates media interviews and photography requests with college officials

Student Photo and Video Policy
Occasionally the Office of Marketing and Public Relations will take photos or videos of various programs, around campus, or at off-campus events for use in official marketing materials. Students who do not wish to have their photo taken must notify the photographer of their wishes. Otherwise, it is assumed that the student approves use of his or her image in college marketing materials.
President's Bio
Dr. Craig McDaniel has been president of Coosa Valley Technical College since April of 1998 and has been associated with the school since 1979. McDaniel has held many leadership positions at Coosa Valley Technical College including vice president of economic development, vice president of instructional services, vice president of student services, and vice president of administrative services. On July 1, 2009, Coosa Valley Technical College merged with Northwestern Technical College to become Georgia Northwestern Technical College. In October 2008, McDaniel was selected by the Technical College System of Georgia to lead Georgia Northwestern Technical College as president.
He holds a doctorate of education and specialist in education degrees from the University of Georgia, a master’s in education from Georgia State University, and a bachelor of science from Carson Newman College.
McDaniel has been involved in a number of community and civic activities throughout his career. He is a 2009 recipient of the Heart of the Community Award; member of the Redmond Regional Medical Center Board of Directors, and was board chair from 2005-2008; served as chairman of the Greater Rome Chamber of Commerce in 2002; and as chair of the Rome-Floyd Development Authority that same year. McDaniel also served on the Rome Baseball Committee in 2001 and was instrumental in helping pass the Education SPLOST when he served as the co-chair for the Rome-Floyd Citizens for Better Schools SPLOST Committee in 2008. He has formerly served on the boards of the United Way of Rome and Floyd County, Cancer Navigators, RESA, Chieftain’s Museum, and RCW Industries. In 2007 and 2008, he chaired the Rome-Floyd 20/20 Committee that developed a strategic plan for Rome and Floyd County for the next decade. He served as chairman of the Future Industries Initiative of the Greater Rome Chamber of Commerce from 2005 to 2009.
McDaniel was employed as an Emergency Medical Technician at Floyd Medical Center from 1980 to 1992. He is married to Debra McDaniel and they have a son, Brett, and a daughter, Lauren.
