The Tradition Continues...
Georgia Northwestern Technical College was created as a result of the merger of two outstanding education institutions. The State Board of the Technical College System of Georgia voted on September 4, 2008 to merge Coosa Valley Technical College and Northwestern Technical College with July 2009 established as the target date for the merger to be complete.
Throughout the merger process, dozens of meetings were held. At almost every meeting a comment was made about making sure that we did not lose focus of the students. It is more critical today than at any time in the past five decades that the technical college you select is focused on your needs and in tune with what is going on in our communities.
My commitment to you is that the staff and faculty of Georgia Northwestern Technical College will work to see that you receive a quality education and that you are treated as our most valuable customer.
Whether you enroll in a program on our Floyd, Gordon, Polk, Walker, or Whitfield County campuses, our desire is to see that you get what you came for. We take a great deal of pride in the tradition of technical education in Northwest Georgia. We are just as excited about our future. We are honored that you are a part of it.
