GNTC to hold 19th Annual J.D. Powell Memorial Golf Tournament

The Georgia Northwestern Technical College (GNTC) Foundation is sponsoring the 19th annual J.D. Powell Memorial Golf Tournament at Barnsley Resort in Adairsville on Thursday, Oct. 26. Proceeds from the tournament will provide funding and scholarship assistance to GNTC students. 

James Derward Powell served as the president of GNTC from 1987-1994.

Registration is now open and is $600 per team with up to four people on a team. The team fee includes boxed lunch, goody bag, 18 holes of golf with cart, and entry for door prizes.

Prizes will be awarded for first in flight, longest drive, and closest to the pin.

On the day of the tournament, registration will begin at 9 a.m. followed by announcements. Tee Time begin will begin at 10:00 a.m. followed by lunch, awards, and a ball drop after the tournament is over. Tickets are available now for the ball drop.

Proceeds raised from the tournament will be used to provide scholarships and financial assistance to GNTC students on all six campuses. The Foundation also assists with purchasing equipment for programs, providing training for faculty and staff, and materials for the library.
